What A Great Place To Work – Home

by Ewen Makepeace on June 30, 2010

Someday you might think of taking off from a regular job. You can work at home as a freelancer if you have a skill on the computer. Why spend commuting time every day. The weather won’t affect you at all when you work at home to make money online.

You might spend the entire day in sweat pants and sweatshirt. Pour your second cup of coffee and relax behind your computer. Work at your own pace.

If you find yourself seated comfortably in your leather office chair in front of your computer workstation furniture, that is a great feeling. Check out freelance work online. You can use writing skills or website coding skills to earn money.

Perhaps you have a talent for writing. You are not Margaret Mitchell, who wrote Gone With The Wind, but you can produce interesting articles. Brush up on grammar and punctuation and go for it.

You do not need a deluxe corner computer workstation in order to design websites or code them. You can also try your hand at writing. Write stories on your computer for pay.

One day you might work for three hours and make up for it the next by doing nine. Sometimes a friend will call you to go out for lunch. What a luxury to get dressed by noon instead of for work at eight.

Enjoy a soup and sandwich lunch with a good friend while you talk over old times. Find out what she or he has been doing. But, don’t overdo it by going out every day. After all, you wanted to quit a regular job so you could stay at home.

The day after an outing, work hard to catch up. Do extra articles to make up the pay difference. If you do coding for websites, use that skill. Freelance jobs are out there by the dozens.

Some article writing sites offer the opportunity to purchase group insurance to their full-time freelance writers. Many people put their journalism degrees to good use this way. Make sure you find an article site that pays regularly so you don’t lose money and time.

Sometimes it is better to work for less pay and work steadily. As your speed increases, you will make up the difference in pay. Besides, you can spend a great deal of time searching for a freelance job that does not last long and then have to find another one. Steady may be more profitable.

You do need a certain amount of self-discipline to work at home. You might be tempted to do other things if the opportunity comes up. Be structured and make yourself do a required amount of writing each day, if that is your talent.
