What is Blogging

Blogging can be defined as writing entries on a page that is created on the internet known as a blog page. This blog page is open to the public to view and is like a journal or diary. Bloggers are the people who post entries on their blog page and they can write about any subject matter and post as many entries as they would like. It’s like an internet bulletin board. Bloggers can write their thoughts and opinions about any subject they choose. Since it is their personal blog entry they are not limited by any factor. Blogs can be professional, personal or even political. Messages can be as long or as short as the author chooses. Readers can receive updates on certain blogs by subscribing.

Some people blog just for fun. They like to write about the things they and their family do. Others are earning a living by blogging. The are monetized blogs. Adding Adsense, Adwords, or other such features brings the blogger income as these are traffic generators so the blogger gets paid when traffic is generated. Originally, bloggers just posted blog entries to share information with other people and to have some fun doing it. Now blogging is used with large companies and organizations to give and receive valuable information thus making communication much easier. Also buyers are able to review products they have purchased and share their personal experience with other buyers and products. Through blogging other potential buyers are informed on the good and bad features of products because the people writing reviews are buyers who have firsthand experience and no vested interest in the company.

For those that blog it is important to ensure that the blog page is presented well and is interesting enough for people to read, even though blogging does not follow any given set of instructions. For those doing it to earn a living this is especially important. Bloggers should make sure that all their content is applicable to their blog page and supports the title which should attract attention. Be sure there is space for followers to leave comments on the page if they would like. Articles should be separated and classified into categories for their readers to easily search for content. Readers appreciate numbered posts so they know which ones have current information in them. To keep followers interested bloggers should update their blog posts regularly.
